Day 1: Arrival Kigali
On arrival at Kigali International Airport and after finalizing the formalities, you shall be welcomed by your guide, who will then drive you to your hotel. Depending on what time you arrive, youmay choose to have a have a banana wine “Urwagwa” experience. This experience involves making traditional beer from fermentation of mashed bananas. Sorghum or millet is added as
a source of wild yeast to facilitate the fermentation process. Alternatively, you may choose to have a coffee master class. This involves having a short history coffee lesson, harvesting the cherries from the trees in the coffee farm and making your own coffee blend.
Day 2: Fly to Akagera National Park
Today after breakfast, you will be dropped off at Kigali Airportfor your flight to Akagera National Park with a
private charter flight. You may choose to have a scenic tour of the park beforelanding. Upon arrival, you will then be picked by the Magashi Shuttle and transferred to the Lodge. The Park borders fine- looking rising and falling plains, solid broad-leafed forests, and brighter acacia woods that define its favorable nature to animals and visitors. Time allowing, you will go for an afternoon game drive where you will spot mammals like Giraffes, Buffaloes, Elephants, Crocodiles, Hippos Spotted Hyenas and masses of birds.
Day 3: Game Drive & Boat Ride on Lake Ihema
Today you will have an early morning game drive in the park,then return to your accommodation and in the afternoon havea boat ride on lake Ihema. You will sail along the water edge which is covered with several trees, drift past numerous gianthippos and see several crocodiles some in the shallows of thewater and
other basking on the shore.
Day 4: Fly to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, depart for Parc National des Volcanoes, you will take a private charter flight from Akagera to Volcanoes National Park. The journey goes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that show much of Rwanda’s landscape, gradually climbing to thebase of the awesome Virunga volcanoes, sometimes with as many as five peaks visible. You will choose to have the afternoon at leisure or explorethe town of Ruhengeri.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking
After an early breakfast you will drive to Ruhengeri. You will experience the highlight of your trip by visiting the mountain gorillas of our planet in Volcanoes National Park where you will be led by an experienced Ranger Guide who will tell you interesting facts about the Mountain Gorillas. Or you could do optional activities that include, an optional golden monkey trekking, optional hike on Mount Bisoke, or visit Dianne Fossey Grave.
Day 6: Fly to Kigali and depart
Today, you will fly to Kigali with a private charter flight. Upon arrival, you will visit the genocide museum as well as have a short city Tour of the capital city. In case you did not have theopportunity to take part in the banana wine making experience, you may choose to have it today or the coffee
master class. Later on, you will depart for the Airport and take your flight backhome.
